DESA KU is a mixed housing development project situated at Padang Meha, Kulim, State of Kedah, Northern Region of Malaysia.

ECK Development Sdn Bhd will develop the 248 acre of freehold land into an established township complete with full amenities, emphasis on greenery and ample open spaces as well as recreational facilities for home-owners to foster a closer-bond in a secure and safe environment. Some 2000 residences and commercial offices will be built. The developer has generously provided 12 acres of land to build an Agro-Park and 4 acres of land to build a convention center with a built-up of 47,000 sq ft an effort to spruce up the recreational activities.

The 12 acres of Agro-Park of various agricultural activities will create an ecosystems where each other’s waste could be used and recycled. Hence, saving both energy, space and reduces environmental impact. All plants and vegetables grown inside the Agro-Park will adopt hydroponics methods, a healthy and green environmental concept.

The convention center, aptly named MBI CONVENTION HALL, will be one of the largest convention centers in the northern region of Malaysia. The hall is poised to be an iconic building sitting along the Kulim BKE.

Desa Ku is strategically located along the Butterworth-Kulim Expressway to the East-West Highway via Baling, Kedah and Grik, Perak. It is easily accessible via the BKE Highway leading to Kulim Hi-Teck Parks’ Phase I, II, III and IV and well connected to established townships like Sungai Petani, Lunas, Seberang Jaya and Butterworth where a myriad of lifestyle facilities and key infrastructures await.

Within close proximity is the Kulim Hi-Tech Parks, SME Kulim Industrial Area and Inokom Corporation Sdn Bhd, one of the largest light commercial vehicle assembly plants in the northern region of Malaysia.

The proposed Kulim International Airport and the proposed Highway connecting Kulim to Bukit Mertajam, Penang, when completed, will further enhance the value of Desa Ku.

Sunway Carnival Mall, Sunway Business Park, food and beverage outlets, hospital, schools and government agencies including the Road Transport Department (JPJ) are a mere short drive away.

PHASE 1

230 units of single and double storey bungalows under Phase 1, have been built with certificate of completion and compliance issued.

PHASE 2

Phase 2 comprises of 498 units of 378 units of single storey semi-detached houses, 91 units of double storey terraced houses and 29 units of double storey shop-office. The built-up area of these houses are 1890 sq ft (single storey semi-detached Type A), 1340 sq ft (single storey semi-detached Type B), 2190 sq ft (double storey terrace) and 2600 sq ft (double storey shop-office). The building works on these properties are scheduled for completion by the end of Year 2016. Also schedule for completion by end of Year 2016 are 224 units of high ceiling single storey semi-detached houses, 38 units of double storey terraced houses and 104 units of double storey shop-office.

PHASE 3

Phase 3 project which comprises of high ceiling single storey semi-detached houses, double storey terraced houses and double storey shop offices is under construction, also scheduled for completion by the end of Year 2016.

Comprises of double storey shop offices that fronting convention hall. Construction in progress. Estimated completion by the year of 2016.

The Three storey bungalow houses which are planned under Phase 5 will adopt modern architectural design with large windows to naturally brighten the interior space. There will be a few types for home-owners to choose from. Comes with home lift and large built-up area, each type is well-planned and designed for the privacy and comfort of the occupants.

The township, guarded with perimeter fencing will be beautifully landscaped for the enjoyment of the residents. Communal facilities like landscaped gardens and playground, clubhouse, bicycle lanes, petrol stations, community area, bazaar and bus station will be provided.
